I’ve also got hold of a great throw rug for my bathroom floor along with a beautiful set of bathing towels. My kitchen sports a new set of southwestern motifs, and my foyer has the most wonderful lampshade and statue in full view.

Although all of this might sound over the top, I’ve found that this is the easiest way to bring the splendours of southwestern home decor into my home, without going all out and renewing my entire house with southwestern decor and motifs.

Moreover, you only want to add a dash of southwestern decor to your home, not the whole thing. Oh, and did I forget to tell you about the gorgeous tapestry I bought the other day? It’s just perfect.

The layout of a kitchen, with counters and wall cupboards, is such that overhead lighting not only looks uninspiring but is of limited practical use. Any place you stand you will find yourself casting shadows in front of you – right where your hands are.
