South Queensland is seeing a hard economic loss in regard to the building industry on the Gold Coast. The average duration of the majority of these jobs is about six months or a year, but there has always been others to go to. Now the prospect of future employment has fallen to an incredible all time low.
The data released by the Australian government has been disheartening. The report for the year of 2008 to 2009 did show an increase of around eight percent. What followed in the next year was a decrease of five percent in available jobs and another two percent drop followed in 2011. The early growth that everyone hoped could be sustained was not to be.
The government issued a stimulus package in the hope of restoring future construction. The Civil and Engineering Company saw an increase in jobs but even that was not to be of any duration. When these projects were finished in 2011, this division would find itself in the same dire straights as others. The sad state of the economy was taking its toll.
The growth period in the south of Queensland always shared job security with the government. When official building projects were completed, work on the private sector always took over. These anticipated jobs were not there for the concerned workers. A lot of the blame was placed on the banking industry following its refusal to release monies for the purpose of building private residences.
The recession has had dire consequences for almost every country around the world. For the coast region of Queensland there has been little work since the start of 2010. The latest released a report states that it sees the future as remaining unchanged. Worse yet is the Urban Development Institute of Australia prediction stating that they do not anticipate any change in the foreseeable future.
If that news was not depressing enough, the Australian Bureau of Statistics came out with the news that private sector building was down by a huge seventy percent. Oddly enough, it is expected that the rate of growth in this area will increase by 5700 per year, while the housing units will only increase by 2700. That will leave 3000 people looking for places to live.
Union bosses have repeatedly warned that the construction industry is well on its way to becoming distinct in the coastal of Queensland. Approximately 3500 jobs are at risk of being eliminated unless something is done. The union head also stated that that applications for few positions were being met with applicants in the hundreds.
The building industry on the Gold Coast is soon to see many workers left without a job. The number of workers that worry about common necessities like food and shelter, is growing quicker than ever before. People will travel hundreds of miles in search of sustenance during this hard period of time. Every facet of construction from painters to bricklayers to woodworkers are all in jeopardy of losing their positions.
Installing Gold Coast fencing helps your property look great and be more protected. Locating good-looking and long-lasting fence posts is important.
